Accessibility

1.Our commitment

VO2Peak is committed to serving people with disabilities in a way that respects their dignity and independence. We follow the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and its standards. We build this website to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, which goes beyond the WCAG 2.0 Level AA standard in Ontario's rules.

2.What we've done on this website

• Every image has a text description, or is marked as decorative when it only repeats something already said.
• The scroll film at the top of the home page has its words in the page, so screen readers read every chapter, and it has a short description of what the film shows.
• You can use the whole site with a keyboard. A "Skip to main content" link appears first, and the item you're on is always clearly outlined.
• Text and important graphics meet WCAG contrast levels. We tested text over photos as well as on plain backgrounds.
• If your device is set to reduce motion, the site turns off smooth scrolling and its automatic animations. The film still moves only as you scroll, at your pace. Nothing flashes, and short looping animations stop within five seconds.
• Headings, landmarks and labels are marked up so assistive technology can find its way around.
• The site works when zoomed to 400% and on narrow screens without sideways scrolling.
• Our cookie banner and settings work with a keyboard and screen readers, and rejecting is as easy as accepting.

3.Known limitations

The home page tells its story as you scroll, with images that change and move. If that's hard to follow, turn on your device's reduced-motion setting, or ask us and we'll send the same information in another format. Some content comes from other companies, such as our booking and payment pages, and we can't fully control how accessible it is. If you have trouble with it, contact us and we'll book or take payment another way.

4.At the lab

• Service animals are welcome in the areas of the lab open to clients.
• Support persons are welcome to come with you, at no extra charge.
• Assistive devices: you're welcome to use your own. Tell us when you book if you'd like us to adapt a test, a program or how we explain your results.
• Getting in and around: tell us when you book if you need help with access, and we'll plan your visit with you.
• Service disruptions: if something you rely on to use our services is unavailable, we'll post a notice at the lab and on our website, with the reason, how long we expect it to last, and other options.

5.Other formats

On request, we'll provide this website's information, your reports and our policies in an accessible format or with communication support, such as large print, a plain-text document, or a phone call to walk through your results. It's free, and we'll work with you to find a format that suits you and get it to you in good time.

6.Feedback

If something on this site or at the lab doesn't work for you, please tell us. You can call, email, or tell us in person. We'll confirm we've received it within two business days and give you a full response within five business days. If we need longer, we'll tell you why and when to expect an answer. We keep feedback confidential and use it to make things better.
